CHRIST IS YOUR SECURITY

Wednesday, October 3rd.

Pastor Chris

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them (2 Kings 6:16).

As a Christian, fear is something you must never allow; never live in fear irrespective of the happenings around you, because you’re divinely protected. Recall the very inspiring story in 2 Kings Chapter 6. The King of Syria wanted Elisha, a prophet of God, arrested. The Bible says, “Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about” (2 Kings 6:14).

When Elisha’s servant woke up, he discovered that he and Elisha were completely surrounded, and he became terrified: “…Alas, my master! how shall we do” (2 Kings 6:15); he lamented! This was supposed to be a time of panic and fear; but Elisha, conscious of God’s divine presence, said to his servant, “…Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:16). How inspiring!

He saw soldiers on horses and chariots, bearing weapons, yet he was unperturbed. He was conscious of his divine protection. Maybe you live in a region where there’s been violence, and wanton destruction of lives and property; refuse to fear. You dwell in the secret place of the most high, where no harm or evil can touch you.

The Lord had said in Psalm 91:10-12, “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.” The same Lord who’s with you, and in you, has an unseen multitude of angels, charged with the responsibility of protecting you. He’s a deliverer and rescuer. Have that consciousness all the time. Christ is your security, your defence, and your fortress. You dwell in Him (Colossians 3:3).

Therefore, it doesn’t matter who or what may come out against you, you’re more than a conqueror. Refuse to give attention to information that makes the adversary appear powerful. Instead, fortify your spirit with God’s Word. Listen to faith-filled words repeatedly until it becomes impossible for you to think or talk fear.

Remember, when the enemy shall come against you, like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Christ is my life; in Him I live, and move, and have my being. There shall no evil befall me or my loved ones, neither shall any plague come near our dwelling. We’re protected in our going out and in our coming in, because Christ is our safety. Hallelujah!
